French language program
Bonjour et Bienvenue!
At Taren Point Public school we value the benefits of learning a second language.
Since the launch of our French Immersion program in 2018 its success enabled us to become a member of the Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools (AAFEBS). We are proud to boast being one of only 3 schools in NSW and 15 in Australia to have this recognition.

- Improved cognitive functioning
- Enhanced memory, listening and problem solving skills
- Improves your English
- Boosts creativity
- Builds confidence
French Immersion Program
In addition to our whole school learning about French language and culture, we introduced a French immersion program in 2018. Its success has enabled us to become a member of the Australian Association of French English Bilingual Schools (AAFEBS), one of only 3 schools in NSW and 15 in Australia to have this recognition.
The program has the ongoing support of the French government in both Sydney and Canberra along with the Canadian Consulate.
We are delighted to have been granted the highly sought after, internationally recognised, Label Franc Education accreditation.
Our French Immersion teacher is parent funded and team teaches with the classroom teacher, teaching the Australian Curriculum in French (4 hours per week).
The program is offered in all years, K-6. Places are limited so it is essential to register interest early.

La Belle Vie French Market
Our annual French market - La Belle Vie is a fabulous day on our school calendar - 3rd Sunday in May. With over 70 stalls of French goodness and 4000 plus visitors each year, you can be guaranteed a fantastique, family day out!
The market is an initiative that is supported by the Francophone Association of Southern Sydney (FASS) and held to promote the French programs at TPPS. This event is a great showcase for TPPS and offers an international vibe to the Sutherland Shire.
It is a date not to be missed! We hope to see you on the third Sunday in May every year - Sunday 17 May 2026.
