Chaplaincy program

Chaplaincy program at TPPS

Mrs Jamieson

Mrs Jamieson is the School Chaplain at Taren Point Public School. She is a friendly face around the school, who is available for students, staff and parents. As a chaplain she works alongside the teachers and counsellor to facilitate the well being of students and their families.

Mrs Jamieson helps out in the classrooms, in the playground and is around for emotional resilience, personal awareness, social capabilities and support. This comes in the form of small groups, whole class programs and in the playground.

Mrs Jamieson is working with students at TPPS on Thursdays and Fridays. If you would like to contact her, please call the school (9524 6379).

Looking after yourself

In challenging circumstances I want to acknowledge the job that you are doing as parents, thank you for being flexible and adapting to the ever changing nature of life. You are caring for your own  children, holding concern for family and friends who you are distanced from and trying to do the best you can. Please make sure you are looking after yourself too.

Looking after your own mental health is important during this time.
If you are having a difficult time, please reach out for help.  These are some of the support services around to help.

  • Lifeline Australia 13 11 14
  • Beyond Blue 1300 224 636
  • Headspace Australia 1800 650 890

Here are some tips for looking after yourself.

  • Take time out for you, 5 minutes to sit with a cup of tea or coffee.
  • Check in with friends and family who are not in the same house as you.
  • Get some fresh air.
  • Spend some time doing something you enjoy.
  • Smile.
  • Share something you are grateful for each day.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any further resources or a chat.
